The centers of the earth

Los centros de la tierra  written by Omar Lara
Translated from the Spanish by Guadalupe Robles

This tiny street is full of smells
It is close to the market
A step from the river
I was here before
We wrote poems on the walls
This place still exists
It is changed
                 But it exists
Habitual places of tenderness
There are no untouched places in the city
Everything smells, beats
Everything has been inhabited, or will be
By the only beings imaginable.
